Last Time That I Checc'd
I NEVER thought I’d have to post this but I just had to delete a few disrespectful, negative and ignorant comments about my brand and the names of my products; I’ve NEVER felt the need to protect or defend my brand but maybe it’s a muscle I needed to develop so to those 4 haters; thanks boo😏💪🏾
OneBrilliantBody IS a Premium, Curated and Culturally-relevant brand; created by God and Gifted to me; I choose integrity in what I recommend, omit and share with you all; as a health professional I desire to present myself as a knowledgeable, reputable and relatable source. Yes. You may have noticed that OneBrilliantBody products are titled after the illest Rap and HipHop songs (they are two distinctly different genres don’t @me unless you wanna 👊🏾or 🤜🏾🤛🏾) and uses cultural language, seamlessly combined daunting integrative health language to help you understand how to add some holistic health gu to your swag (see what I did there 😉)
I don’t do gimmicks, teas or torture devices to achieve an aesthetic
I don’t do quick fixes, shortcuts, or trends
I don’t diss other businesses or self-imposed health professionals
But I will be REAL with you about said health gimmicks, tricks and dangerous trends
I seek to present myself, my business and my vibe to MY TRIBE: this is those who have chosen to trust me as a guide and partner in their personal health journey.
Back to the comments that sparked this post:
I was told that my “little” brand wouldn’t go anywhere with rap ratchetness and talking about God while posting whole juicing, raw vegan meals and natural teas while also rap lyrics, alcoholic drinks and thirst traps; I was told that the titles of my products are “ridiculous” and “disgusting”
And that they would never sell.
This cut me.....my eyes welled with tears and I could hear my lil heart break; as this was from a business mentor group and and actual community entrepreneur I’d chose to align myself with for mentorship, I joined the group to help me learn to become an entrepreneur that is able successfully meet, anticipate and exceed needs of my customers; and now I was feeling shredded, ridiculed and embarrassed.
Last time that I Checc'd; OneBrilliantBody is a platform of my purpose, gifted to me, directly from God, as a still-developing (well)thprenuer; I may seek business counsel but I will NEVER require validation of my PURPOSE.
I quickly logged into Canva to change all the titles to my products to more “socially acceptable” ones when.......I remembered who tf I am. And I thought “who talks to their students and peers like that; HATERS do!
Full disclosure: I struggle with being unable to quickly release malicious, hurtful or demeaning behaviors; when someone is hurtful, offended with me or just plain out of line; often wonder “why is this person speaking/treating/interacting to/with me like this, what did I do?, how can i fix it? or I would never do this to them” I internalize so deeply that I feel guilty and question myself hoping they forgive me.....whether I was wrong or not.....this isn’t an acceptable form of community interaction; your people should be your people and you should never feel left out, ganged up on or singled out, furthermore ignored or cut off, if someone chooses to go from being cool with you to not talking to as a conscious decision, do yourself a solid and throw them a goodbye party; even if something did go down; friends, true friends talk things through find understanding and make respectable decisions to move apart or move forward.

I’m amazing at conflict resolution (seriously, I’ve worked really hard and consciously at this) but I’m still constantly working on reparenting my conflict recognition process, so I needed to sit and examine before I responded to the above mentioned incident; especially in relation to my business as I may lose some of subbies or followers after this post; if so, I wish you ALL the best on your health and wellness journey, no hard feelings and you’re always welcome back at anytime💙 I simply must protect, myself, my brand and most importantly…YOU
I cannot and will not allow anyone or anything that is contrary to the core value of my brand come into this community and cause discord, doubt or disrespect, this includes messaging, products and community interaction.
